A hike through the forest
Montgomery Woods is an enchanting redwood grove 20 minutes from the 101 corridor. With all my recently voyages throughout the far corners of Mendocino County (and beyond), it has taken me up till now to finally take a hike through the forest. The last time I had trekked into the Woods was close to a decade ago on a spur-of-the-moment trip. And as many times as I've passed through there on the single-lane Orr Springs Road, you'd think I would have stopped. Time or other agendas have always taken precedence.
I've known Nickie since 1996. She was one of my ex-'s friends and one of the more level-headed (next to Mario) of the bunch at the time, someone who I could relate to well. She was the girl who actually became my friend too. Our lives had since gone in different directions over the years, and it took something like MySpace to reconnect us. Nickie is also a photographer and her shoots are ones I really enjoy, as well as take inspiration from. We had planned on hooking up for a... (more)

i seek no other
To Fear God is to Believe in God. To Believe in God is to Obey Him.
" God once asked me to give up something I thought He had given me. It meant more to me than anything else. I had desired it for years. It was to work for a particularly well-known evangelist, one i dearly loved.
My wife and I had been offered positions on staff as assistants to this man and his wife. Not only did i love this man, but I also saw it as God's opportunity to bring to pass the dream He had implanted deep within me-- that i might preach the gospel to the nations of the world.
I fully expected God to say yes to this wonderful offer, but He made it clear that i was to turn it down. i wept for days after refusing this offer. I knew I had obeyed God, yet I did not understand why He had asked such a hard thing of me. After weeks of bewilderment, i finally cried out, " God, why did you make me put this on the altar?"
He quickly answered my cry: "To see if you were serving Me or the dream."" -- John Bevere,... (more)

Ode to the Gorkha soldiers!
"Every one is afraid of something. I am afraid of two women in my life, my mother and the Prime Minister (referring to Indira Gandhi). If any one says he is not afraid of anything, either he is lying or he is a Gorkha"- Field Marshal Sam FJH Manekshaw

Evan Almighty
I saw Evan Almighty last night on HBO. I was quite keen in watching this movie, because of its promotions and I was impressed by Bruce Almighty. In addition, I recently saw Arai En305-il Kadavul. I liked the Indian version of this movie.
Evan Almighty is rather a boring movie. I was captured by Morgan Freeman's dialogues. If you ask for something to God, you get an opportunity to get it and you have to work towards it. I am not too good at remembering the dialogues. Nonetheless, the essence still lingers inside me.
How true is it? If we pray to God for something, we get several opportunities to get it. All we to do is identify the signs and work towards them. The grace of God lies in our capability to identify opportunities and moving in the right direction.
In such a boring movie, I got this wonderful message.
